Diplomacy Becomes Center of Attention at the Pyeongchang Olympics

The Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, on Saturday (10/2), featured the first match of a joint North Korea-South Korea ice hockey team, as diplomacy took center stage at the start of the Games.

2018 Winter Olympics officially begins Friday with a parade of athletes entering the Olympic stadium, including athletes from North and South Korea marching behind Korean blue and white unification flags.

South Korean President Moon Jae-in on Saturday ( 10/2) met with North Korean delegates including Kim Yo-jong, sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

Kim Yo-jong was the first member of the North Korean ruling family to visit the South since the end of the 1950 Korean War -1953

He is a senior member of the ruling Workers Party in North Korea and the main adviser of Kim Jong-un.
