London Lawyers Acknowledge Lying In The Russian Case

A lawyer in London pleaded guilty on Tuesday to lying to a US investigator about his relationship with Rick Gates, a former aide to President Donald Trump's campaign. This is part of a broad investigation into Russian intervention in the 2016 US presidential election.

The Office of Special Investigator Robert Mueller revealed the allegations against lawyer Alex Van der Zwaan on Tuesday morning, and he pleaded guilty in the afternoon in a Washington court.

Investigations of the Russian Case, Lawyers Accused of Lying

Van der Zwaan is the daughter-in-law of Russian billionaire, German Khan, and has worked at leading law firm in New York Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom until the firm claimed to have fired him last year.

Mueller's office alleges that when van der Zwaan worked for Skadden, he had lied about his latest communications with Gates in mid-August 2016.

There are World War II Time Bombs, London Airport Closed Meanwhile

 The discovery of the Second World War bombs forced the temporary closure of the London City Airport. The second World War II bomb was found near the River Thames.

As reported by AFP Monday (12/2/2018), the remaining bomb was found at King George V Jetty, close to the airport runway in central London. The findings occurred during construction work on site on Sunday (11/2) local time.

"The 214-meter ban zone has been applied as a deterrent to the Metropolitan Police (London)." As a result, the London City Airport is currently closed, "the London Municipal Airport Authority statement said.

"All passengers traveling from the City of London on Monday (12/2) are advised to contact the airline for more information," the statement said.

London City Airport operates mostly long haul flights close. The airport, the fifth largest airport in London, is located in east London, near the Canary Wharf business district. The airport remained closed this morning, and all flights from and to London City Airport on Monday (12/2) were canceled, "said the CEO of London City Airport, Robert Sinclair. It is not known how many flights were canceled during Monday (12/2).

The London Metropolitan Police said the findings of the bombing remnants were reported on Sunday (11/2) early morning local time. The closure of airports and the enforcement of banned zones was decided to ensure public safety.

"Ensuring that the object is handled safely while limiting the risks to the public," said the local police.

The unexploded World War II remains were handled by special police personnel, along with British Royal Navy personnel. It is known that thousands of bombs were dropped in London by the German Air Force between September 1940 and May 1941.

Tillerson will Visit London on a Visit to Europe

US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson says he hopes to visit the new US embassy in London, a week after President Donald Trump refused to attend the inauguration of the new embassy.

President of Trump Cancel Plan Visit to London

Some London Zoo staff have been tackled by medical personnel for inhaling smoke and shock after a fire that occurred on Saturday morning local time. A fire broke out in the Animal Adventure just before 0600 local time.

"The staff living on the site at the zoo went straight to the scene, and transferred the animals to safety," the London Zoo said as quoted by the AFP news agency Saturday (23/12) /2017).

"The London Fire Brigade was on the scene within minutes and the fire was controlled at 09:16 am A number of zoo staff have been taken care of on-site by inhaling smoke and shock," London Zoo.

"Currently an aardvark has not been found," added the London Zoo.

Not yet known the cause of the fire that hit a cafe and shop in this Animal Adventure section. Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the fire

More than 70 firefighters and 10 fire engines were deployed to extinguish the blaze. The officers managed to tame the rooster in over three hours.

Upon this incident, the zoo located just off the popular Camden Market, will remain closed until further notice.

The London Zoo, which opened in 1828, is now a leading conservation organization, in addition to being a popular tourist spot in London.
