North Korea's imaging efforts through the Olympics have succeeded in improving its image among the South Korean people, while the United States gives an indication of a new openness to dialogue.
On Monday (12/2), South Korea's Unification Ministry said the North Korean delegation's visit has opening the door for further cooperation that could help ease recent tensions over Pyongyang's threatening stance and by frequent nuclear and missile executions in the past two years.
"This shows that North Korea is willing to improve relations between South and North Korea. We also believe this suggests that they may take drastic measures that have never been taken if necessary, "said South Korean Unification Ministry spokesman Baik Tae-Hyun.
The Unification spokesman did not explain what he meant by" drastic has never been taken "but Seoul has stated that the goal of the dialogue is to start nuclear disarmament talks between America and North Korea. [gp]
