Egyptian Coptic Church Head Rejects US Vice President

 The head of the Egyptian Coptic Church Pope Tawadros II canceled a meeting with United States Vice President Mike Pence in Cairo this month. He refused to meet Pence because of Donald Trump's decision to mention Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

"The Egyptian Coptic Orthodox Church refuses to accept US Vice-President Mike Pence," the Egyptian Coptic Orthodox Church said in an e-mailed statement.

Pope Tawadros II says it will pray that the problems in Jerusalem can be solved in a wise and peaceful way.
