The state of Alabama in America is getting closer to granting a permit for the use of nitrogen gas to punish the death of inmates, a way that was never used to execute someone.
The Alabama Senate approved the Draft Thursday on 29- 0. The bill has now turned to the DPRD.
The bill proposed by the Trip Pittman Senator allows the execution with nitrogen hypoxia if lethal inject drugs are not available or considered unconstitutional. The Republican senator said Alabama needed another way of execution because of a deadly injection facing a legal challenge.
However, no state has used nitrogen gas in the execution.
