Israel Shoots Dead Palestinian Men Suspect Shooting Rabbi

West Bank
Israeli troops shot dead a Palestinian man they call the prime suspect of a rabbi's fatal shooting last month.

Israeli security service Shin Bet said it had shot dead Ahmad Nassar Jarrar during a raid on Tuesday (6/2) early morning local time in a building in the city of al-Yamun, near the West Bank town of Jenin.

The Shin Bet mentioned as reported by Iranian media, Press TV, Tuesday (6/2/2018), Israeli troops fired on Jarrar when the 22-year-old man left the building, carrying an M-16 assault rifle and a bag of explosives.

Rabbi or a Jewish priest named Raziel Shevach was shot dead near his home in Havat Gilad area, near the West Bank town of Nablus on January 9. Since then, Israeli troops launched a massive search operation in Jenin, Jarrar's home town. Israeli troops even destroyed the Palestinian man's house in an earlier attempt to arrest him.

Last month, Hessam Badran, a member of the Hamas Political Bureau praised the man responsible for killing the rabbi as a hero. According to him, the shooting incident was a natural reaction to the Israeli regime's atrocities against the Palestinians. He also called the shootings a slap in the face of the Israeli regime and a response to US President Donald Trump's move to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

A Man Shoots His Head Outside New York City Hall

A man died after firing his own head on the outside of the gate at New York City Hall, Monday morning (5/2).

A police spokesman said the man was driving a black sedan to the east gate of City Hall around 7.30am and shoot his own head. The identity has not been released yet. There were no other casualties in this incident.

Traffic in the city of Manhattan connected to the Brooklyn Bridge was stopped, while police investigated the shootings. This caused traffic congestion in the morning rush hour, on both lanes of the bridge.

This incident occurred near one of the two main security checkpoints for everyone entering City Hall. Anyone who wants to enter this building must pass a security check with a metal scanner. Security at City Hall was tightened after a gunman killed the council member in 2003. [em]
